The dream of a gallery began ten
years ago as the Watercolors Gallery located in the heart of the
cultural trust district on Penn Avenue. In June our building on
Penn Avenue was sold and we began looking for a new home. We were
invited by Phil Salvato to come to Carnegie to share in the active
artistic life of that community.
The gallery is financed and run by the artist members. Initially
the gallery was limited to watercolors, but membership has been
opened to other artists of other media so that they may share
in the opportunities our gallery offers.
The missionBy participating in a co-operative gallery, we hope to
enhance the individual artist’s role as well as to develop
the market of art in our community. We believe that our endeavor
provides a measure of self-sufficiency that benefits each artist,
the city of Carnegie and the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
